The mLogic mTape SAS is a desktop LTO-7 archive/backup solution with SAS connectivity; compact and portable, compatible with industry leading backup and archiving software, and offering 6TB of native storage per tape cartridge.
mTape SAS supports the Linear Tape File System (LTFS). With LTFS, mTape SAS mounts just like a hard disk with drag and drop functionality. The free mTape Utility is a simple way to mount mTape SAS using LTFS. Once installed, just connect mTape SAS to your SAS equipped Mac and launch the utility to safely format, mount, and eject tapes.
mTape SAS can be attached to mTape Thunderbolt to enable simultaneous backups/archives to two or more LTO-6 tapes, for the ultimate in data security (requires backup/archive software supporting this feature). mTape SAS can also be used as a conventional standalone SAS tape drive.
mTape SAS features a small form-factor design ideal for mobile applications. And mTape is DC powered enabling the unit to be used in any environment. mTape SAS can be factory upgraded to Thunderbolt connectivity in the future.
