Focusrite Red 8Pre is 58-in / 64-out audio interface with of 8 Focusrite's highest quality, digitally-controlled AIR mic preamps and connectivity for Thunderbolt, Dante and mini-Digilink, allowing the Red 8 Pre to be directly connected to a Pro Tools HDX or HD|Native card as a Pro Tools interface. The Red 8Pre offers full 192kHz / 24-bit operation and an exceptionally low round-trip latency. The Red 8Pre also includes 16 line level inputs and outputs and 2 headphone outputs.
Dual Thunderbolt 2 ports allow daisy-chaining of additional components such as hard drives and displays. Plus the Red 8Pre is network audio enabled right out of the box, with dual Ethernet ports for Dante audio-over-IP networking, letting you expand your recording capability over Ethernet for up to 64 additional channels anywhere on your network, with low latency - and lower cost. Additional Red or other Dante-compatible components can be connected to the Ethernet ports of the Red 8Pre to provide additional channels irrespective of the interface used to drive the Red 8Pre.
The Red Evolution mic pres in the Red 8Pre deliver a clear and honest audio performance with -129 dB EIN and 63dB of gain that allows plenty of room to bring your own sound to life with your choice of external processing. The mic pres can be controlled digitally, for adjusting/recalling settings and stereo linking via Focusrite Control software. They also include our unique 'Air' effect, recreating the sound of the transformer-based mic preamps in the ISA range. When 'Air' is enabled, the microphone impedance is set to 2.1kO and the frequency response curve is given a subtle mid-high boost - all in the analogue domain.
Connect up to 64 additional channels to the Red 8Pre via Ethernet-based Dante networking - a simple, single connection carrying both audio and built-in clocking. Whether the Red 8Pre is connected to the computer via Thunderbolt, DigiLink or Dante, simply connect units such as two RedNet A16R (32 channels of analogue I/O), four RedNet MP8R (32 channels of RedNet mic pre), or other Dante-enabled products via Ethernet as desired. Place mic preamps where the music is, and outputs where the sound needs to go - wherever there's an Ethernet connection. Unlike daisy-chaining via Thunderbolt, Dante lets you run additional channels over a greater distance, with low latency and lower cost, without wasting money on technology or connectivity that will not be used. And it will only get easier: look out for future enhancements offering complete plug and play Ethernet expansion functionality.
Software included: Red 8Pre includes the new Focusrite Control software, providing a straightforward and intuitive way to set up mixes and monitoring, as well as controlling the mic pres - recalling settings, assigning stereo pairs, adjusting gain and enabling features such as highpass filtering and phantom power. In addition, Red 4Pre is packaged with Softube's Time and Tone Bundle - a unique plug-in pack including four of Softube's professional quality plug-ins: Drawmer S73 Intelligent Master Processor, TSAR-1R Reverb, Tube Delay and Saturation Knob. Also in the box is the Focusrite Red Plug-in Suite, which accurately models Focusrite's classic Red range 2 and 3 equaliser and compressor hardware.
Please note - to use the Focusrite Red 8Pre directly connected to either a Pro Tools HD Native device or HDX card, you will need an Avid Digilink I/O license. If you do not already have one of these, it can be purchased via Avid's Web Store. They are also included with a Pro Tools HD renewal or Reinstatement Plan.

Our team take every care to get your new kit to you in pristine condition, but if an item is faulty, you’re less than delighted with it, or you’ve just had a change of plan, you have a few options…
We’re happy to swap or refund any item that is confirmed as faulty (or ‘Dead on Arrival’) within 14 days of purchase, and will cover the cost of you returning it and a replacement being shipped out. Sometimes, we’ll put you in touch with a manufacturer if we think that’s the fastest way to get you a replacement, and we’ll cover the transport costs then, too.
After the 14 day DOA period, we’ll try and get you a return or repair in line with the manufacturer’s warranty. The collection and delivery charges will be covered by Jigsaw24 and the cost of the repair will be covered under the warranty, unless an inspection shows signs of damage or misuse. Again, in some instances we may offer to put you in touch with the manufacturer, but only when this is the quickest route to getting you a repair. Your statutory rights are not affected.

You can cancel your contract within 14 days of receiving your kit, and another 14 to return it to us once the order is cancelled. Any requests for refund or credit made outside the 14 day window are at our discretion. We’ll exchange or refund any goods returned to us in full working order, but if an item isn’t faulty, you’ll need to cover the cost of returning it to us. The item(s) returned must be as new and in the original packaging. Your statutory rights are not affected.
Returning any software, even if it’s sealed in its original box, is at our discretion and will depend entirely on the individual manufacturer's policy. For example, some software will automatically allocate you a non-returnable licence, even if it is a boxed product. However, if the product is still a current part of our on-hand stock, and we’re able to confirm from the relevant manufacturer or supplier that they’re happy that licence hasn’t been allocated, we will try to take back any sealed software returned within seven days of purchase.
ESD (Electronic Software Delivery), in which you’re supplied with a licence and a web link in order to download your purchase. As there’s no physical packaging, the licence has to be treated in the same way as an unsealed box, which means we’re unable to take this back, so please double check you’re buying the right item! Products that have contact with the ear, nose or throat can only be returned for a full refund if sent back with seals unbroken and in an unused condition (you must exercise reasonable care when evaluating the product as you would in a shop).
We understand that customers may be dissatisfied with the performance of products that raise hygiene concerns after they have tried them out. If this is the case please contact us and we may be able to offer credit for another purchase (subject to inspection of the returned product) or to purchase the product back as second hand (taking into account that we would need to dispose of the item).

Unless we’ve agreed otherwise in writing, the delivery times given by us are a best estimate, and we can’t be held responsible for any loss, delay or damage you may incur as a result of adverse circumstances like bad weather, traffic etc.
Any instances where you might be unable to pay your debts (winding-up, receivership, administration, creditor arrangement, bankruptcy) or you commit a material breach of the contract, we may immediately terminate our contract with you, suspend or cancel further delivery, and/or recover any unpaid items.
