For those who don’t remember the halcyon days on Prime Support, it’s an elite version of Sony’s support programme designed to give you a better quality of service, faster turnarounds on queries and repairs, and overall better return on your support investment.
This time round, there are four variants of Prime Support, so you could choose a package that share your priorities when it comes to support.
Prime Support Pro is effectively a more comprehensive warranty, covering repairs and providing you with helpdesk support from Sony should anything so wrong with your device. You’re covered during normal working hours and get a 14 day turnaround on repairs.
Prime Support Elite designed to get you the fastest possible turnaround, so is great if you’re trying to keep a large amount of kit healthy and in the field. You get extended opening hours, automatic fast-tracking and the option of loan units and advanced swaps.
Prime Support On Demand bypasses the traditional helpdesk system and gets you as-and-when advice from Sony’s technical specialists, with a guaranteed 60 minute response time. It can also cover any third party products that work with your Sony gear, and Sony will handle the logistics of your repair. Ideal for those of us who exist in a constant state of crisis.
Prime Support Bespoke isn’t an out of the box solution, but rather a tailored contract that’s agreed with you and Sony once you’ve bought your kit (if you speak to us about it while you’re putting your kit list together, we’re more than happy to make support recommendations). Your options extend beyond support to include things like training, health checks, and even having your very own Sony expert onsite.
