Guardian Media Group publishes guardian.co.uk, one of the world’s leading news websites, as well as guardiannews.com and the Guardian and Observer newspapers. What did they need? A quick, cost-effective way to get iPad into the hands of employees, so they could better understand the digital customer experience (and log on from anywhere). How did Jigsaw24 help? We managed the Shared Ownership scheme from start to finish, developed a secure online portal where staff could buy GNM-approved iPad models, delivered and deployed nearly 1200 devices and are providing ongoing support.

Guardian News & Media - Empowering employees with iPad

As part of their Digital First Initiative, Guardian News & Media teamed up with Jigsaw24 to run a shared ownership iPad scheme, which helped their staff purchase tablets for less. Six months after the scheme launched, we went back to see if iPad had taken off...

Setting up shared ownership and a bespoke portal

We consulted with GNM to work out a cost-effective way to get them the technology they needed – their Shared Ownership scheme. We agreed an approved catalogue of devices employees could buy. We built a secure purchasing portal that used 128-bit SSL encryption and was hosted by Jigsaw24. We primed our accounts team to handle all the admin from staff purchases.

Launch day and devices ready to use from day one

GNM launched their iPad rollout with a launch day event, including a tech bar hosted by our team. GNM staff then had three weeks to buy their iPad, and could pay it off over 12 months using a salary sacrifice scheme. We configured each user’s device, bundled it with their accessories and delivered it to them ready to go. We provide onsite and remote tech support for GNM’s iOS devices and Macs.
