Harlow College: How the TP3 framework got their iPad journey off on the right foot

After a disappointing experience on another framework, Harlow College wanted to find a new, more reliable way to purchase Apple devices. They turned to us as a trusted long-term partner, and we introduced the college to the Technology Products 3 framework, through which they were able to get the devices, management and support they needed.

After Harlow College decided to expand their Apple estate, they realised that none of the suppliers on their existing purchasing framework were up to the task of supplying and supporting the devices they needed. As an Apple Authorised Enterprise Reseller, Apple Premium Service Provider and Apple Education Specialist, we’re one of the most highly qualified suppliers in the UK. When Harlow College reached out to us for advice, our education team were able to direct them towards the Crown Commercial Service’s Technology Products 3 framework.

Delivering outstanding service as standard

Working with a Crown Commercial Service framework like TP3 was the ideal way for the college to begin their Apple journey. Because suppliers on the framework are pre-vetted, the college could avoid underqualified or unscrupulous vendors who may look to overcharge or underserve them. Having access to the framework’s standard terms and conditions (not to mention its pricing structure) meant the college could spend less time researching vendors and negotiating contracts – without exposing themselves, their students or their finances to any additional risk.

Delivering a seamless macOS and iOS rollout

While the college had their own onsite IT team, they used the framework to find a reseller that could provide them with devices, consolidate their device management solutions for mobile and desktop devices, and provide logistical support to ensure a cross-college rollout. We worked with the college to ensure that all devices were onsite as and when they were needed, and that there were sufficient staff present to support a speedy delivery and rollout.

UK stock of the latest Apple devices was limited at the time, but due to our close ties to Apple and strong stock position, we were able to source the devices they needed within a week of winning the tender, and pair with licences of Jamf Pro, the leading device management solution for Apple. The college now has all the hardware and management options it needs, delivered on time and to spec by an Apple-approved partner. And now that they’ve found CCS and TP3, they’ll have access to the expertise they need for years to come.
