With no resolution in sight for the spread of COVID-19, it's important to ensure all your editors and employees can work from home effectively with the same tools they use in your facility. And the best way to do that is with PC over IP (PCoIP), a remote display protocol for delivering remote desktops and applications to endpoints.
But for the uninitiated, how do you know that PCoIP will work with your systems? How secure is it? We've answered all that and more in this set of PCoIP FAQs, including how we can help you get up and running.
If there's anything we've missed, please do ask us in the form below, or get in touch with the team for more information.
Q: "We don't have a VPN or zero clients. How do we get access internally?"
A: We can provide a gateway solution for you, and a broker to establish an external connection using secure credentials over a single IP address.
Q: "We have a Mac system. Can we use this remotely?"
A: Yes! We can supply a single or multiple unique external PCoIP product from our partner Amulet Hotkey, who develop innovative, intuitive remote KVM (keyboard, video and mouse) and PC over IP solutions which will work with a zero client.
Q: "What about Linux systems?"
A: No problem. Linux systems have the same supported configs as Windows.
Q: "What options do we have for the client end?"
A: There are zero clients available for a full edit suite feel, or software clients for a simple and convenient connection from a laptop.
Q: "And how do we get a client monitor output?"
A: We can provide different solutions based on quality, colour accuracy and bandwidth available, used by the biggest names in the business.
Q: "Is PCOIP secure?"
A: Yes, PCoIP is very secure – it's fully encrypted at all times.
Q: "Is there a way we can choose which remote system we connect to with our AD credentials or non-AD credentials?"
A: Yes, we can supply a broker solution for either internal or external authentication, allowing you to choose from a pool of machines to connect to.
Q: "How can we be sure all this actually works?"
A: We've been deploying PCoIP solutions for over more than five years, with some very large deployments in the most demanding environments, so there's not much we haven't seen. If you'd like to test it for yourself, we have a fully functional demo environment that we can give you access to.
