Winter Tech Showcase round-up

Couldn’t attend our Winter Tech Showcase? Not to worry. We give you all the details on the evening, from a roundup of the vendors that attended to a breakdown of the tech we had on display. Find out what you missed…

Our talks

The high point of the evening were our keynote talks. We wanted attendees to walk away with new knowledge they could take back to their businesses, and it was the perfect opportunity to utilise the expertise of our in-house team.

Chris Bailey, our M&E Head of Innovation, introduced our specialist media division and our unique system integration capabilities. He broke down the services we can offer our partners before explaining the advantages of some of our setups, including how cloud-based storage can help you increase collaboration and what editing software meshes the best into these workflows.

For our other talk we had Liam Donnelly, our Pre-Sales Solutions Consultant, give details on management and security in creative workflows. He discussed how to manage macOS updates, which solution you should choose for this, and how our own app, Patch24, can help you automate and facilitate the entire process. He gave some additional information on security solutions, such as Jamf, and how they work, keeping your devices safe.

Our vendors’ displays

We invited our partners to give talks as well, as it gives us a chance to learn directly from the creators of the solutions we use and get a different perspective on their products.

Apple’s presence was key, as always. They brought their latest tech along and displayed the capabilities that iPad can offer illustrators, as well as Mac Studio and why it’s perfect for editing work on desktop.

EIZO brought their External Sales for Creativity rep and Product Specialist for FlexScan and ColorEdge to tell us more about how EIZO help you achieve your creative vision.

On the other hand, HP brought three of their representatives, Rich McGuiness, Dan Smith and Helen Wightman to talk about the role that HP workstations can play in performance workflows.

Here are some highlights of what our other vendors showcased at their stations:

• Adobe’s solution to collaboration on video projects – Frame.io and Premiere Pro.
• The perfect asset management tool for creatives, Extensis Portfolio.
• One of the most high-end pen display drawing tablets, Cintiq 27” by Wacom.

What we displayed

We think that simply bringing you expert talks and displays with the latest tech is not enough – this is why we created our Perfect Desk Set-Up table. Our goal was to show attendees what an ideal set-up looks like for an M&E business, how hardware and software combine to create a perfect creative workflow – and what services can help you get there.

Combining Logitech and SanDisk, we created an all-inclusive solution that featured sturdy storage and the latest peripherals for a truly ergonomic and lightning-fast experience.

Networking evening

What event is complete without free snacks and drinks? The evening portion of the event provided a perfect opportunity to network with our partners, our team and other creatives in a relaxed atmosphere where everyone feels welcome.
