The Quantum TC-L52BN-AR half height LTO-5 SAS Tape Drive offers a great backup solution, with the speed and capacity of LTO-5 tape now available in a tabletop form factor.
The tape drive uses the fifth generation of the industry standard LTO tape format, which makes it compatible with all LTO-5 tape media no matter which brand of tape is being used. It is also fully backwards compatible with LTO-4 media and can read LTO-3 media, making it easy to upgrade to this drive while still being able to carry over your existing backup data and ensuring previous investment in tape equipment is protected. The LTO-5 format provides read/write speeds of 140MB/s (native capacity), which when combined with the drive's SAS external interface provides significantly better overall performance than earlier SCSI-based tape drives.
Like other Quantum drives this model comes with Backup Exec Quickstart backup software already installed, meaning you can begin using the drive immediately.
