Poser 9 is the latest release of SmithMicro's character animation software. The easy to use and learn tools comes complete with already constructed people, making it ideal for first time users to the world of character animation, through to the professionals. 3D characters and animations can be created within minutes inside Poser 9.
By utilising Face Room you can customer your characters using facial photographs. Once that stage is done you can add dynamic hair and clothing, build a scene using a virtual stage with props, lights and cameras and automatically create walking, running and talking characters, adding a whole new dimension to your graphics.
Changes to user interface with Poser 9 means you can have access to a search -enabled library making it easier to find, organise and use your content. The dependant parameter tool means you can teach objects in a scene to interact with each other and the cross body morph brushes allow you to smoothly sculpt a figure on every body part. All meaning you have a more efficient workflow.
The actually character movement and realism has been improved no end within Poser 9. The advanced Weigh Map Rig support can be used to generate better performing 3D characters allowing them to be more easily posed with natural joints across the body and the hybrid rigging supports the Poser Sphere and Capsule Zones so they can be used in combination with each other.
The rendering capabilities have also seen some changes within version 9. The Firefly render engine supports Indirect Lighting with Irradiance Caching for Global Illumination effects and supports rendering with Ambient Occlusion, meaning you will have more realistic renders. The new shader nodes enable SubSurface Scattering for luminescent skin tones the FastScattering allows for bioluminescent effects and the Tri-specular Hair Shader provides more realistic trans-mapped hair highlights.
