The Foundry's Rolling Shutter Plug in uses Local Motion Estimation Technology to take image distortion encountered by users of camera's with CMOS sensors. CSMO sensors record line by line rather than as a single snap shot, this can result in fast moving images being distorted with diagonal skews. Such distortions not only look unsightly but can cause additional problem when trying to perform task such as motion tracking. Rolling Shutter uses Local Motion Estimation technology to identify which parts of an image are moving relative to the camera. From this calculation, correction can be applied to counteract the rolling shutter effect.
