The nanoFlash from Convergent Design represents a huge leap forward in tapeless workflows. Record direct from an HD-SDI to cheap and easily available CompactFlash cards and record direct to your NLE systems file type. No more transcoding. Convergent Design have worked to ensure near universal support for all NLEs and offers playback from the unit as required.
nanoFlash can be powered from a camcorder battery and records 1080i60/50, 1080p30/25/24 or 720p60/50 at full raster (1920 x 1080i/p and 1280x720p), using Sony's versatile MPEG 2 4:2:2 codec. With variable frame rates at your disposal you can record at 50/100 Mbps (Long GOP) or 220 Mbps (I Frame only). As both a recorder and player, nanoFlash sports HD-SDI I/O as well as LTC in, wired remote control and a power/start/tally light connector. The NanoFlash is small enough to mount on your camera, or at least on a belt and will add nothing but versatility to your workflow.
