Vectorworks Fundamental 2012 is an out of the box CAD solution that won't limit you to a prescribed workflow enabling you to work in a way that you prefer. Despite Fundamentals being the entry level CAD application for Vectorworks it is still packed full of features which allows you to bring your creative ideas to life.

The freeform modelling functionality allows you to draft and model within any 3D view by taking full advantage of the advanced working plane selection tool, making it easier for you to choose the correct surface you want to manipulate.

The improved interoperability with other software packages means that file transfers are now less painful. Import and Export functionality with AutoCAD have been improved and standard 3D file formats including IGS, SAT and STL are all supported.

Fundamentals is also programmed to ensure that you get every last detail correct from customisable top and bottom wall height of each component through to scalable insulation fills and tiles and hatches that can be modified and reused.

Benefit from the improved viewports features which sees the navigation between your sheets and when switching from sheet layers to designer layer much easier as well as streamlined zooming which means less pixilation occurs in non-complex files.

Changes have been made to drawing features as well. These include improvements to editing polylines where reshape controls and the Object Info palette controls can be utilised to edit specific vertex controls like arc, radius, corner and cubic as well as creating closed shapes from open curves when using the Offset Tool.
