Maxon's Cinema 4D Broadcast R13 is the latest release of one the industry's leading 3D motion graphics software. R13 features a new physical camera and renderer, workflow and user interface enhancements, improved import functionality, enhanced shaders, stereoscopic rendering, a reworked Timeline and new Picture Viewer features.

The new Physical Render Engine allows you to render with ultimate realism due to the addition of real camera settings including shutter speed and aperture, 3d depth of field and motion blur. There are also advanced render settings which allow you to create blurry reflections, area shadows and ambient occlusions, giving your final render a photo realistic finish.

Organic surfaces such as skin can now be created with more accuracy by using the new Subsurface Scattering Shader. Realistic shading is created by the index of refraction, Fresnel properties and GI calculations all working together.

Other changes to the shader and materials include Brick Shader and Mo-Graph Multi-Shader Enhancements. The Brick Shader allows you to define the textures for the primary colour, alternate the colours as well as alternate the areas of grout. The Mo-Graph Multishader allows you to texture clones more creatively.

The import and export functionality of Maxon has also been improved. Support with After Effects now includes the conversion of the Stage object to an After Effects camera, support for drop-frame NTSC rates of 29.97, Cinema 4D markers appear in the After Effects comp and the individual channels of a stereo render appear as separate comps that can be easily integrated with the 3D Glasses effect in CS5.5. Cinema 4D now supports 2010, 2011 and 2012 FBX file formats and Multiple-Pass renders can be stored as multiple channels within a single OpenEXR file.

Further enhancements made to Cinema 4D Broadcast R13 include a complete Stereoscopic workflow, better handling of timeline markers, coloured animation paths, advanced selecting tools, optimised HyperNURBS weighting, ClothNURBS extrusion and a new XRef system.
