The Focusrite Saffire PRO 40 features eight award-winning Focusrite pre-amps, which are known the world over for their high quality clear sound. The preamps ensure low noise and distortion, whilst quality digital conversion and JetPLL jitter elimination technology ensure pristine audio quality. Couple this with an Audio Technica AT2020 microphone and you're ready to start making high quality recordings.
Alongside the eight Focusrite pre-amps are a host of i/o options; 10 analogue outputs, ADAT I/O, stereo SPDIF I/O and 2 virtual 'loopback' inputs for routing digital audio between software applications - ideal for capturing online audio from streaming media players and live events. Every channel features phantom power, with the first two channels also featuring -9dB pads for additional headroom. Front panel 5-LED metering for each analogue input offers accurate viewing of levels.
Additionally, the Saffire PRO 40 comes with a software suite of Focusrite plug-ins. These plug-ins include the Focusrite Compression, Reverb, Gating and EQ VST/AU plug-ins provide a significant upgrade from standard sequencer effects, bringing a touch of class to your session. Focusrite's established xcite+ bundle is also included. The bundle includes Ableton Live Lite, Novation's Bass Station soft synth and over 1 gig of royalty-free samples.
The Audio Technica AT2020 microphone capsule features a 16mm low-mass, side-address diaphragm with a cardioid polar pattern. The Audio Technica AT2020 has cardioid pattern is effective in rejecting ambiance and noise at the off-axis sections of the microphone capsule. A linear frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz enables the flexibility to accurately reproduce signals from any source. The AT2020 by Audio Technica has a high SPL handling and wide dynamic range allow the AT2020 to capture loud signals with minimal noise and distortion. The microphone includes a pivoting, threaded stand mount for accurate positioning.
