With a huge array of features, the MXO2 is more than a follow on from the MXO. The award winning I/O device is not only loaded with HDMI, HDSDI and analogue video connections, it also has professional audio I/O including built-in 5.1 surround sound monitoring. HDMI monitoring and Matrox's unique calibration controls for accurate monitoring on any screen. 10-bit hardware up, down and cross scaling means a wide range of possiblities for workflows in both HD and SD with a variety of file-based formats and industry standard codecs. Native working with both Final Cut Pro and Adobe CS4 Production Premium means it can slot in to a huge number of set ups connecting with both e34 on laptops as a portable unit or PCIe on edit stations for a more stationary use.

Matrox MAX is a unique technology that implements faster than realtime H.264 encoding for resolutions ranging from iPod to HD. It uses a dedicated hardware processor to accelerate the creation of H.264 files for Blu-ray, the web, and mobile devices. By using specialized hardware acceleration, jobs are finished with amazing speed and system resources are liberated for other tasks. Quality and flexibility are ensured through direct integration with professional applications such as Apple Compressor, Telestream Episode on the Mac; Adobe Media Encoder and Adobe Premiere Pro on the PC
