V-Ray Advanced 2.0 for Maya comes with a whole array of new features including fast off-line rendering with support for motion blur on both CPU and GPU, and displacement, hair and fur on the CPU allowing Maya users take full advantage of the V-Ray RT and V-Ray RT GPU combination.
New and unique to Maya is Python callback, which allows you to directly modify the V-Ray scene before rendering, access the full features of the render engine and it's plugins and also the ability to add your own custom V-Ray plugins.
Improvements and optimisations have led to faster rendering of displacement, fur, proxies and hair as well as V-Ray Fur and Maya hair.
Textures have also seen a big improvement, with the addition of substance texture support, a new car paint material, a new toon shader as well as the addition of automatic support for both Mari and Mudbox-style tiled textures. V-Ray 2.0 also supports the increasingly popular Ptex texture format.
Other new features also worth mentioning are: the native support for rendering of Maya fluids, with full support for GI and light scattering, support for Maya stereo camera plus file conversions tools that greatly helps the interoperability throughout the 3D pipeline.
