DaVinci for Linux has been the industry leader in colour correction for over 20 years. Combining power, scalability and innovation, Resolve lets you move seamlessly from simple primaries to complex node-based colour correction and stereoscopic grading - all in realtime.

DaVinci's node-based image processing allows for huge creativity, as each node can contain colour correction, power windows or effects. Resolve on Linux can play back around 30 nodes in multiple uncompressed formats, even if you're applying heavy-duty effects, or working with 4K, 3D or native R3D files.

Resolve has been used on top 3D films, including 'Alice in Wonderland' and 'Avatar'. Grade left- and right-eye footage separately in twin timelines, or grade one eye and use Resolve's Ripple Link function to apply the same corrections to the other automatically. Copy corrections and move them between eyes, group shots and grade them simultaneously, or save time with Resolve's automatic syncing and colour matching tools.

Maintain precision control over your grade with powerful creative tools such as camera stabilisation, noise reduction, blending between layers and corrections, the ability to lock down individual nodes while you're applying saved corrections and the option to amend, rather than overwrite, existing corrections. Print your colour corrected project back to tape without having to render the corrected footage to a DPX file. With the PowerMastering tool enabled, your DaVinci system can cache all of your corrections in the background, so jobs with a quick turnaround aren't delayed by render times.

The latest version of Resolve comes complete with multitrack XML support in and out and allows round-tripping to your FCP, AAF or Avid workflow. The new conform page also features advanced editing tools that allow you to make more exact alterations to the timeline, easily swap out shots for the VFX replacements and force conform to a given shot if a sequence isn't working. You can also conform different parts of your timeline to different settings, making projects which feature a mixture of formats, metadata and reel ID types much more manageable.

Resolve for Linux is based around a series of InfiniBand-connected Linux servers and NVIDIA S4 processors, which act as a single, unified system with unbelievable power. The great thing about this setup is that it's completely scalable - you can begin with a single GPU system for smaller projects, then expand to a 4, 8 or 16 GPU system as you take on more complex projects at higher resolutions. As well as giving you extra power, having access to a larger system means you can assign tasks to specific Linux servers. Use a Waveform server to make sure you have access to the most accurate colour information, or create a database server that lets colourists access projects, sessions and configurations from any location - especially useful when you're working remotely, or collaborating on projects with clients in other countries.
