Take your Google SketchUp models that one stage further and render them out using Shaderlight for SketchUp. The plug-in is fully integrated within SketchUp making the actual render process easier, more interactive and can be used on both the free and pro versions of version 7 and 8.1.
There are two rendering modes that can be utilised with Shaderlight dependent upon the workflow. The progressive rendering mode will automatically update for interactive feedback as you design and test out different materials. The other option is a single shot render which will produce a full quality rendered image.
Replace Me is a new technology within v2 of Shaderlight. The feature will allow you to render out detailed models, without filling out your SketchUp scene with geometry. There is a library of Replace Me models available for you to utilise or alternatively you can make your own with the Replace Me creator plugin.
Simple pre-sets direct from SketchUp and the adjustable settings will allow you to add accurate materials and textures to your 3D model. This can then be enhanced by taking advantage of the SketchUp sun, point, spot, area, portal or IES lights adding another dimension to the scene and making it more realistic.
Scene animation is another new feature to the v2 release of Shaderlight which will allow you to create photorealistic renders of your scene animations. When you have created an animation scene Shaderlight will render it as a sequence of photorealistic frames. The settings for the render can be changed and the animation interface will control the frame rate and scene range.
