The Sony SDX2-50 AIT-2 Tape is a pre-labelled, barcoded storage tape, ideal for use in tape automation systems. It has a storage capacity of up to 130GB of compressed data (50GB for native data), and uses Helical Scan technology for a sustained native transfer rate of 6MB/sec.
The media is both reliable and durable, with a 30-year media life through it's in-built AME (Advanced Metal Evaporated) technology.
The data can also be accessed quickly due to AIT's unique Memory-In-Cassette (MIC) facility, which is incorporated in the tape.
