The SPL Surround Monitor Controller is the monitor controller of choice for anyone working on surround projects, whether surround mixing or DVD authoring. Providing a single point volume control stereo and 5.1 volume control, source and speaker management system, SMC supports a single independent stereo set of monitors and a 5.1 set, allowing you to switch between them depending upon the nature of the project, and also allows each speaker of the 5.1 setup to be switched in and out individually.
The SPL SMC Surround Monitor Controller has a wide range of input sources. A primary D-Sub input accepts a 5.1 source and a stereo source, and 8 additional RCA sockets are available, configured as a stereo pair and a 5.1 set. This makes it simple to do comparative monitoring between your mix and reference material in surround format from SACD or DVD sources. Speaker outputs are via individual balanced TRS jacks for each speaker.
SPL's circuitry delivers a transparent audio path with an extended frequency range up to 100KHz, and its electronically balanced design ensures the best possible noise rejection.
