The Sony AIT-2 Turbo Tape with Memory Chip is an AIT-2 Turbo tape with R-MIC (Remote Memory in Cassette) of 64 Kbit. It has a capacity of 80GB for native data and 208GB for compressed, making it ideal for small business data back-up.
This 8mm tape utilises Helical Scan technology to achieve a 12MB/sec sustained native transfer rate, and also features non-contact R-MIC chip technology to give quick access to data and simplify media management as a whole.
The tape has proven reliability and durability, with a 30-year media life, achieved through the use of AME (Advanced Metal Evaporated) technology.
AIT Turbo media can only be used with an AIT Turbo drive. This tape is not compatible with standard AIT drives.
