Over at this year’s Plasa show, Presonus are showing off their range of live sound mixers and speakers, the StudioLive AI range, as well as giving their StudioLive AI active loudspeakers and acclaimed Eris range an airing.
StudioLive AI mixers
The StudioLive AI range of mixers (32.4.2 AI, 24.4.2 AI and 16.4.2 AI) are aimed at live sound and live broadcast markets and build upon the previous generation of StudioLive mixers by offering built-in WiFi through an included USB dongle, which capitalises on the fact that the mixers can be fully remote-controlled from an iPad or iPhone.
The new range of mixers also offer more internal processing, more channels and expansion options for Thunderbolt and Dante connectivity. Built-in Firewire 800 allows all channels of the desk to be recorded simultaneously for live recording, and the desks ship with Presonus’s Capture software for just this purpose.
For anyone who’s missed the 32.4.2 AI so far, here’s a video running down its key attributes:
StudioLive AI loudspeakers
Partnering the desk is the new StudioLive AI active integration loudspeaker, which is designed to reproduce the accuracy and detail of a studio monitor in a loudspeaker design. Using a CPU which can be controlled over a wired or wireless network (including via iPad), the performance and EQ of the speakers can be adjusted to perfectly suit the room and position it’s in. And on the subject of studio monitor sound, Presonus are also giving their brand new (and much applauded) Eris range of studio monitors an outing.
