Ah, IBC offers, how we’ve missed you. Just in time for the start of the conference, Autodesk have announced that they’re knocking 20% off the cost of new seats of Smoke 2013 for anyone who buys between 12th September 2013 and 20th October 2013.
There are, of course, a few provisos: upgrades from previous versions aren’t eligible for the discount; education licences aren’t included and you can’t combine this discount with any other Autodesk offer. However, you don’t need an Autodesk Subscription to take advantage of it, which should be music to the ears of all you non-subscribers out there.
It is better with an Autodesk Subscription, though…
While you don’t need an Autodesk Subscription to receive the discount, we’d still recommend picking one up when you buy your seat of Smoke 2013. We’ve outlined the major benefits of Autodesk Subscriptions before, but in this case you’ll get the added bonus of access to all the features in Autodesk Smoke 2013’s first expansion pack, so you can trim clips directly on the timeline and use Smoke 2013 with your existing Blackmagic Design I/O and Thunderbolt devices while the unsubscribed have to save for a new AJA I/O unit.
You’ll also get all the usual Subscription benefits, including free software updates for the length of your subscription, simplified licence management and the flexibility to install your software on a work and a home computer (so if you’re away from your workstation, you can just fire up the same project on your notebook and carry on editing).
