Lovers of the Silverstack on-set data management solution (we are many) will be pretty chuffed to hear that makers Pomfort have released an update that adds XAVC support for Sony’s F5 and F55 cameras.
The new Silverstack update, available now, enables advanced playback and metadata capabilities for the XAVC format (HD, 2K and 4K) coming from the Sony F5 and F55. It will now play back XAVC up to 4K, let you preview Slog in Rec.709 and show metadata in the clip library, making Silverstack an even more impressive addition to your shoot than ever.
What’s more, the update is completely free to all existing Silverstack users, and non-users are even invited to trial Silverstack for free for 14 days over at the Pomfort website.
Never heard of Silverstack?
With the ability to support practically any codec and file type, this is a data solution that will follow you from budget filmmaking to the highest of high-end shoots, handling audio, video, stills and production documents as it goes. All of your files are backed up to multiple locations quickly and unobtrusively, then checksum-verified. This is a good enough feature as is, but Silverstack goes one step further and does all three of these things simultaneously in a single operation. Learn more.
