Pomfort have added an interesting tidbit to their Silverstack knowledge base: how to import metadata from iPad app MovieSlate directly to your Silverstack system.
The new functionality allows you to use your iPad to enter clip-related information like circled takes, file names, comments and tags into the MovieSlate app, then transfer it seamlessly to your main Silverstack system, which will automatically assign the data you’ve entered to the correct clips.
For those of you who haven’t had the pleasure of meeting MovieSlate yet, it’s a clapperboard app that lets you log footage and take notes as you shoot, so you can save time by only capturing the good shots. You can then export your notes and logs into various file formats for daily shot reports, archiving and ingesting shot data into Final Cut Pro, Media Composer or Premiere Pro. But the most interesting thing is that MovieSlate will receive timecode (as an in-app upgrade) – just connect a compatible audio cable from an LTC timecode source to the headphone jack of your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch.
