To the delight of colour graders up and down the country, Tangent have released a mobile iOS version of their popular Wave Control and CP200 dashboards. The vWave-Lite makes the most of the iPad’s multitouch display for intuitive, accurate correction in Color.
The app’s three digital trackerballs let you control the colour differential and masters in the Primary In, Secondaries and Primary Out rooms in Apple Color, and all the controls can be used simultaneously on your iPad interface.
It’s a proper standalone controller, but you can use it at the same time as your CP200 or Wave too. We’re thinking the portability factor of the iPad is going to make the app perfect for grading on the fly, as it connects to Color via any wireless network.
We’ll be testing the vWave-Lite out as soon as possible, and you can download it yourself for free from the iTunes App Store. You’ll require Color v1.5 or greater and Tangent Color Support Package v3.8 (upgrade for free from the Tangent website).
