The version 2.0 firmware upgrade for the GY-LS300 4KCAM handheld Super 35 camcorder and GY-HM170/GY-HM200 4KCAM camcorders has just been released, and promises J-Log, prime zoom, Cinema 4K/2K and more.
For the GY-LS300, the upgrade adds a J-Log gamma mode that practically duplicates the look of film, plus new Cinema 4K and Cinema 2K recording modes and a unique prime zoom feature that uses the camera’s innovative technology to allow zoom capabilities when using prime lenses.
For all three camcorders, there’s now a 70-bit mode to enable 4K recording on standard Class 10 SDXC cards, a histogram, new zebra indication and a variety of live streaming changes (300 and 200 only). There’s also the ability to trigger recordings via HDMI/SDI and JVC LUT support via the Atomos Shogun external recorder (this may be the ideal time to remind you that if you buy any camera, we’ll give you a Shogun for £1099).
If you’re not yet the proud owner of a GY-LS300, you can find out more about its particular charms here.
