This week, we’ve been casting our minds back and thinking about what websites inspire us. We’ve been looking at smooth page transitions, simple layouts and clean colour schemes. Here’s what the team came up with…
Think with Paper by FiftyThree
First up, we’ve been looking at the homepage of design and engineering company FifyThree. FiftyThree have a wonderfully creative homepage that pulls together clever graphics and quirky icons – a big hit among our creative team.
Now to one of our most used apps, but probably not one of our most frequented websites. We’ve been looking at the sleekly designed website for Spotify. In particular, we were drawn the simplistic way they present information and the responsiveness of the site (which looks just as great on mobile as it does on desktop).
The Rally Interactive website has had the whole team drooling this week. Mainly due to its slick transitions between pages, which work just as well when reversed. This site topped our inspiration list this week, and it’s not hard to see why!
JD & Co.
Recruitment experts JD and Co’s website also caught our eye, and we found ourselves particularly drawn to the way they promote their social media feeds and news. Any company that has a dedicated space on their homepage for cat imagery and a hashtag of #kittycoder has a place in our heart!
With just six rotating banners on their homepage and a supernnav not dissimilar to our own, we were all in agreement that the simplicity of the Selfridges homepage was really working for them. Moving further into the website, you aren’t bombarded with products and hit in the face with a sale. Instead you’re greeted with fashion guides, blogs and showrooms before being taken to the store.
