We recently held a Beer and Backup Event down at the very exclusive ‘No 8 Golden Square’ (aka our Soho service and customer experience centre) to talk enterprise adoption, management and backup, and quaff a few good ales. So to everyone who came, we just want to say ‘Cheers!’.
From speaking to people on the night, quite a few of you mentioned how useful the event was not just for helping you to understand more about backup plans, with guest speakers including Pentland Brands, JAMF Software and Code42, but also a good chance to network and let your hair down.
Hosting the event was The Don himself, Tariq Saied (Jigsaw24’s Chief Operating Officer) with a quick introduction on managing, securing and backing up your environment. Following him was our very special guest from Pentland Brands, Ben Toms, who gave us an insight into Pentland’s estate journey, including the challenges the company had previously been having, and how they then overcame them using JAMF Software’s management and deployment solution, Casper Suite.
Our very good pals (and partners) Code42 were also in the house, with Andy Hardy presenting a talk on how to protect, control and secure corporate data using CrashPlan PROe, their cross-platform enterprise level backup solution.
Beer and burger time
Talk over, it was time to open the bar. As fully paid-up hipsters, we’d stocked our offices with a selection of ten craft ales from around the UK, the runaway favourite of the night being the beautiful drop that is Whitstable Brewery’s Nelson Sauvin (shameless namedrop for freebies…), and had ordered in a ridiculous amount of burgers, hot dogs and sarnies to soak it all up. Suddenly, it had somehow turned early morning, meaning kicking out time at Soho’s swinging-est service and customer experience centre.
Good thing we managed to capture photographic evidence of the night, then, and Esther and Jess were on-hand to coerce attendees into leaving post-beer feedback on our app. You can see some of the pics (thanks very much to the fantastic www.motionbug.com for capturing our good sides), and a few cleaned-up comments below.
Thanks again for coming, guys. Was a corker.
“very well organised night. will love to attend another one. great to meet industry people and other it professionals. very worth while.”
“Free food and free beer. What is not to like?! But seriously, great environment for a casual meetup and talks.”
“fantastic night. met the most amazing people to sort out my problem. will be coming back. thanks to jigsaw”
“JAMF were amazing. not blowing my own trumpet or anything.” (hmm, wonder who that could have been…)
