Staying at the cutting edge of post
with DaVinci Resolve at Deluxe 142

Deluxe 142 (formerly Ascent 142) wanted to upgrade their DaVinci Resolve system so they could take advantage of the improved stability and new hardware offered by the latest specification. As well as supplying hardware, DaVinci control surfaces and software, we worked with their engineers to set up facilities for networked and remote grading, and then integrated the systems with their existing KVM and SDI routers, so they could control the system from any enabled suite.

Why did they come to us?
As the UK’s only DaVinci Resolve for Linux provider, we were the obvious choice for Deluxe 142 when they decided to upgrade their colour correction workstations.

What did they need?
Master and assist colour grading workstations outfitted with the latest version of Blackmagic Design’s DaVinci Resolve, then integrated with their legacy hardware and remote grading control system.

How did we help?
As well as supplying hardware, DaVinci control surfaces and software, we worked with their engineers to set up facilities for networked and remote grading, and then integrated the systems with their existing KVM and SDI routers, so they could control the system from any enabled suite.

What were the benefits?
Deluxe 142’s artists now have access to the most up to date software and hardware for grading their work, including dedicated Reslve control panels for more intuitive control of their image. Remote grading means that artists aren’t tied to specific workstations, and so can work more efficiently.

“We met with Jigsaw24 to start planning for the upgrade of our two Resolve grading platforms and also to discuss their plans for the support of those systems. It was apparent from the start that they had a clear understanding of the challenges associated with working in a post-production environment.”

Laurent Treherne, Digital Film Technical Director, Deluxe 142

“Between the Blackmagic and Jigsaw24 engineers we had all the support we needed to expedite the upgrade, and the process was completed with the minimum of disruption to the department. Having Blackmagic supporting their software and Jigsaw24 supporting the hardware has proved to be a successful and cost effective solution for us.”
