Our Cookie Policy

What are cookies and why does Jigsaw24 use them?

Cookies are small text files sent by websites to your computer or mobile device via your browser. They allow the website to do things like remember your user preferences, your details and what's in your shopping basket - generally anything that makes it seem like you're constantly connected to the site. They're also used to support analytics (tracking who visits our site from where, when and how, so we can ensure everyone gets the best possible user experience).

By using our site, you are consenting to us storing cookies on your device as laid out in our privacy policy. Your browser option allows you to disable cookies. However, you should note that if you disable cookies, you may not be able to access all the services on this site.

What cookies does Jigsaw24 use?

We use a combination of session cookies (ones that are deleted as soon as you close your web browser) and persistent cookies (ones that are stored by your browser or device for longer periods of time, even if you're not online).

We use session cookies to identify you, determine whether or not you have JavaScript enabled, remember any details you enter (such as any items you add to your basket and any information you enter while making a purchase) and to identify your session data in our server. The information on our server expires after 20 minutes, and the cookies will be deleted as soon as you close your browser.

We use persistent cookies to remember your first name for our chipper welcome message, to remember any items you add to your basket for up to ten days, to identify whether you're an external user or one of our staff and, ironically, to remember if you've read and dismissed our cookie notification popup. If you choose to have the site remember your username and password so you don't have to re-enter them every time you log in, this information will be stored as a persistent cookie.

Which third party cookies does Jigsaw24 use?

We use third party cookies from ChartBeat, GetClicky, Google Analytics and Kampyle.

ChartBeat tracks whether you are an external user or one of our staff. ChartBeat uses cookies to do this, but does not store any information that could identify you individually. You can read the ChartBeat privacy policy here.

GetClicky allows us to see how people found their way to our site. Information about what data it gathers and the cookies it uses to do this is available here.

We also use Google Analytics to track how visitors behave on our site, including where they've come from, which pages they visit and how long they spend on those pages. Information on how Google Analytics stores and shares data, including its use of cookies, can be found here.

Kampyle is the service we use to gather feedback, and if you click on any of the 'give feedback' buttons on our site, Kampyle will store cookies on your device. You can read their policy here.

What if I use social media plug-ins or click a link to a third party site?

If you share a link to one of our pages using social media (for example, if you click an icon to share one of our articles on Facebook), that social media site may save cookies to your computer. Jigsaw24 doesn't control these cookies, and turning off cookies on our site will not disable those sent to your computer by a third party site such as Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter. We recommend contacting the sites in question if you'd like more information on their cookie policies.

Similarly, if you follow a link from our site to a third party site, we have no control over that site's cookies and disabling cookies on Jigsaw24.com will not prevent the third party site from storing cookies or your device. Jigsaw24 cannot accept responsibility for the content of cookies used by social media networks or other third parties.
