The Blackmagic Intensity extreme is a HDMI, component, s-video and composite 10 bit capture and playback device with Thunderbolt connectivity. Thunderbolts high speed data transfer system offers an incredible 10Gb/s connection that's up to 20 times faster that USB 2.0 and up to 11.5 times faster than Firewire 800.

The Intensity can capture and playback all professional files formats so users an deliver to a variety of finished products from television shows to music videos and other work at broadcast standards. Intensity will instantly switch between HD and SD video standards including HDTV 1080i/59.94, 1080i/50, 720p/59.94, 720p/50, NTSC and PAL. The Intensity extreme works with the QuickTime as well as the worlds most popular NLE's such as final cut pro and Premier Pro.

The Intensity Extreme allows the user to capture directly from the HD camera's image sensor, by passing the video compressor chip for true uncompressed video quality. Now users can go beyond the quality limits of HDV or AVCHD for editing, design and authoring with the Intensity Extreme.

The intensity Extreme is the perfect solution for adding video to laptop computers as it can power directly from the laptop battery. Connect the intensity to any large screen television or video projector for incredible edit monitoring. Current computers don't have the processing speed to render complex multi-layer real-time effects in HDV playing back to Firewire cameras. Intensity extreme solves this problem by outputting video on HMDI and analogue output for big screen monitoring in both SD and HD formats.
