    Avid Pro Tools HD Native Thunderbolt interface is the first completely portable Pro Tools HD solution for Thunderbolt-equippped computers. Super fast I/O, near-zero latency, automatic delay compensation and full integration with Avid/Digidesign's HD series interfaces are now available for a amazing price. Avid Pro Tools HD Native Thunderbolt features the full HD feature set (minus HDX support) leaving your CPU to handle plug-ins and mixing. With HD Native Thunderbolt you get 256 channels of audio, 7.1 surround sound support, Copy to Send, complete multitrack Beat Detective, and other great functions previously unavailable at this price point.

    HD Native Thunderbolt systems are ideal for post production or music production facilities who want full Pro Tools HD functionality but would prefer to take advantage of an iMac rather than a tower-based system for space reasons, or who would prefer a highly portable solution based around a MacBook Pro or other Thunderbolt-equipped notebook computer. The HD Native Thunderbolt is identical to the HD Native PCIe card but in an external Thunderbolt format. As well as full integration with Avid'd HD Series IO audio interfaces, HD Native Thunderbolt features a Sync HD port and built-in headphone output and can be powered via Thunderbolt or via an external supply.

    The Avid Pro Tools HD Native Core System supports up to 4 HD series interfaces (or 1 HD MADI) for up to 64 channels of I/O. With HD Native all 64 channels of I/O are available not only to Pro Tools HD but to other third-party DAW software such as Logic, Nuendo/Cubase and Ableton. Other features exclusive to HD Native users is the addition of a purely native-based Auto Delay Compensation (or ADC), a feature only available on high-end TDM systems. All of these features and more make HD Native the perfect - expandable multi-channel audio system for Mac and Windows.

    The perfect solution for integrating Pro Tools HD into post-production and broadcast environments, HD MADI gives you great connection flexibility, fuss-free use through built-in sample rate conversion, and the ability to send and receive up to 64 channels of audio between your Pro Tools. setup and MADI devices up to 2 km (1.24 miles) away-all with a single rack unit interface.

    HD MADI supports sample rates up to 192kHz, and features both optical and coaxial MADI connections. Because HD MADI is a 64 channel audio interface, a minimum of a Pro Tools HD2 core system is required for full channel count.
